Hapless thugs accused of gunning down their own friend, notorious for vicious Asian elder assaults

Two San Francisco gang members will appear in court this morning charged with a brazen August 2023 murder in which they are accused of mistakenly killing one of their own friends.
Prosecutors say Tommy Thompson used his SUV to ram Dwayne Grayson as he rode a dirt bike along Keith Street in the city’s Bayview district. Passenger Teangelo Harrison then opened fire hitting Grayson seven times.
The 23-year-old lingered for two months before dying at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.
While the victim lay in hospital, court documents say, Thompson texted him to apologize claiming that he and Harrison did not know it was him on the bike because he was wearing a ski mask. Harrison is also alleged to have told him by text that he thought he was murdering a member of a rival gang.
It appears Harrison offered Grayson $10,000 as compensation for his injuries.
Their victim was perhaps best known for posting social media videos of himself and others attacking defenseless Asian seniors. This culminated in a 2020 arrest for robbery and elder abuse after a notorious incident in which he and others beat and humiliated a man collecting recyclables – the weak-kneed prosecution of which became a major plank in the campaign to recall progressive D.A. Chesa Boudin.

Harrison was arrested last month after SFPD investigators uncovered new evidence from two phones seized after his subsequent arrest for weapons possession and from an Apple iCloud search.
A witness told police that a silver Mazda SUV hit a dirt bike, causing it to crash, on Keith Street in the Bayview neighborhood on August 11 2023. Video footage from a nearby grocery store then captured a man in the front passenger seat lean out of the car’s window and open fire multiple times on the rider.

The Mazda was found abandoned one mile away. Investigators later obtained security video of two men said to be the defendants getting out of the car and walking away just minutes after the shooting.

Harrison’s DNA was found on a baseball cap left in the car, say police. Also found in the car, they claim, was a box with a shipping label bearing Thompson’s name.
It appears that Harrison held on to the Glock 43X used in the Grayson killing. Police say they can forensically link the murder weapon to a gun Harrison was later found with, which is also tied to another shooting incident.
In 2025 investigators reviewing Harrison’s iCloud account found a photo of the weapon resting on someone’s lap.

In the aftermath of the attack, say prosecutors, the defendants realized they had made a mistake. Investigators found text messages sent by Harrison and Thompson that acknowledged their role.
“Love you fr foo glad u good hit me whenever u got time to hear my side foo I know emotions is high rn and u recovering just know that foo fr,” wrote Thompson in a text message to Grayson five weeks after the incident.
“I ain’t tryna sound hard or nothing but niggas fucked me up I an Nvr be the same again,” replied Grayson.
Amongst a number of apparently incriminating text messages sent by Harrison, police say, is a note sent in 2024 from him to his girlfriend’s mother.
“I killed a man,” it reads, “and she didn’t say nothing just always loved me for me if she’s ever scared of me it’s just because she Kno I can kill someone and go back home and wake up still tell her I love her and with all the love yous it changed me I’m not about too keep saying I love you when I’m on a route that can end with me dead or in jail for life.”
Prosecutors say that both defendants confessed after their arrest.
Harrison and Thompson will appear this morning in Department 19 of the Hall of Justice to be arraigned on several charges including murder. They have not yet entered a plea.
The case continues.
