Gregory Garcia (dob 11/3/99) was arrested for firearm possession after “two series of rapid gunfire” at 2am in Diamond Heights on March 15.
He himself was shot and transported himself to the ER. Having been advised that a shooting victim had arrived at a local hospital, SFPD reviewed security camera film of Garcia arrival which showed him walking over to a planter near the entrance to the emergency room. On checking the planter, officers found a firearm.
Garcia was ultimately released from jail five days later on his own recognizance.
This was reported in the SFPD Ingleside Station newsletter without the identity of the arrestee being mentioned. This was later provided by police because of a Public Records Act request.
